Hanging Braziers Barley House For Sale

At the car park in Barley, The Women's Institute have made an interesting display of flowers. On the way to the reservoirs, one of the old properites is for sale at £550,000 - it's the one with the white garage. We left the car park at 08:35hrs.

Barley Water Works

At the time of writing, the (near) end one of seven appears to be occupied.

Lower Ogden Reservoir

Lower Ogden Reservoir

Much as I like the evening walks with the chance of sunset views and really enjoy Pendle in snow, a Sunny Saturday in August is always memorable...the wild flowers, the birds, the pesky flies...

Ali Watson Bench

Memorial Bench

This was a surpirse. The family of hillwalker and webmaster, Ali Watson, have provided for a really fine bench overlooking Upper Ogden Reserovir. He died in August 2015 at the age of 49.

To The Summit

The photo of Ali was taken in January 2013 on Pendle on a very cold day.

Pendle Runners

Pendle Summit

The runners stood for nearly ten minutes discussing routes, clubs, personal bests etc. By then a couple of walkers plus dog took over the trig for their selfies. So, and this is a "Personal Worst", I had to wait 12 minutes in order to take the obligatory photo of my dog at the summit.

Barley Cabin

We walked back into Barley, passing quite a few late starters on the way. Food, typically good, from The Cabin at Barley Car Park.

2hrs 25mins from Barley to Barley. Deduct 12 minutes for summit-hogging issues and the time, whilst not a personal best, becomes respectable.
