Pendle from the Dog Walk |
It's the first Saturday of the new year and low cloud keeps us close to home. At lunch time we join the dog walkers and I spot PH emerging as the cloud lifts and disperses. Buster is described by his owners as a Patterdale Terrier.

Wall Spotter |
Leaving the car at the roadside at 14:50hrs, we head for the mist, more in hope than expectation that the camera might find something to record at the higher levels. It seems that a disappointed landscape photographer has found new interest in the walls.

Cloud Gaps |
As we ascend the steps, a few gaps appear in the cloud.
The Stile
Maybe the start of another year of up to 30, 40, 50 Pendle ascents? The main attractions of the place are the air quality, the solitude (sometimes!), the views (not everyday), the open spaces and the cheery folk. Every time there is something different.
The Summit
Today, the difference is the cloud parting - at just the right time, for only a few minutes. Look at the two contrails above the trig.
Collison Course?
Touching?
What a pleasant surprise to have this break in the clouds, letting in a little low sunshine. Then a large group turned up from the other side.

The Mist
The cloud returns and the walkers disperse and duly disappear into the mist.
