Pendle Summit
The Reservoir Route
We left Barley car park at 08:10hrs and followed the Ogden Reservoir Route. Molly cleans her teeth on a fallen branch - just as I was about to take a photo of a woodpecker, she barked at me for ignoring her and off flew my target! A bird-watcher, I am not, but for those that are: I saw kestrels, the woodpecker, an owl and lots of smaller birds in and around the woodland between the reservoirs.
Upper Ogden Reservoir
The recent snowfall is rapidly thawing and frozen footpaths are yielding to the higher temperatures to resume their typically boggy temprement. We were treated to a little direct sunlight as the sun rose over Mearley Moor.

Boar Clough Path
The Boar Clough path leads to the summit and is well cairned, useful in misty conditions.
Molly on top of Pendle
Molly's 28th time up here and my 36th and final one for 2014. It would have been good to hit 50 again, but poor weather and a leg injury in the first two months - followed by the arrival of the puppy, all put a brake on the fellwalking. Hopefully, nornmal service is fully restored ...
