Housing Issues
I knew that there had been building work behind the conifers, but nothing prepared me for the new scene on offer just past the village hall in Barley. The cottages on the right are over 200 years old. The lane before the conifers were cut down is shown below. A lady from the cottages was sharing her disappointment with passing walkers, I told her that she might get some nice new neighbours!

Lower Ogden Reservoir
It's a fine day and I'm ready for a local walk after a few days in Whitby and quite a lot of driving.

Today's route followed Ogden Clough to take the path up the side of Boar Clough.
Pendle Summit
For the first time in recent times, I was unable to get an unhindered view of the summit and the trig point. A troop of Quakers had made the journey from their base in Ulverston to climb Pendle Hill and visit the places known to George Fox.
The Stile
The Steps
A kestrel hovers, looking for the next meal. The fields to Barley provide a little easy walking, but mind the mole holes.
