Pendle Summit
Scroll down for photos and a description of the walk....
Pendle's Shadow
Starting from the roadside at 18:55hrs, this is a sunset-targetted ascent. This view confirms that there is strong sunshine over Pendle as the shadow extends over the Black Moss Reservoirs.
Distant Views
On the left, the town of Colne is beyond the long shadow of Pendle Hill. On the right, Tunstill Mill, Brierfield stands proudly on the canal front. A reminder of the strong local "Asian" influence is clear to see.
The Stile
Looking good for a view of the setting sun. I'm in good time and have brought my tea with me, so it's picnic time.
Job Done!
A couple leave the scene of their summiteering achievement, unaware that they have unwittingly provided photographic content.

The Sunset from Pendle
To the East
You may just be able to make out dark lines heading for a focal point way off to the East. What's that then? It's the opposite of sunrays, must be caused by sunlight, but shows as dark lines.
