Tunstill Mill, Brierfield
A firm of architects from London has requested to use one of my photos of Tunstill Mill from last year. For good measure, I've taken another; this building always looks good in the evening sunlight. Empty and awaiting redevelopment.
Brierfield
A large Cumulonimbus cloud is building and heading north-east over East Lancashire and towards West Yorkshire. It's been an afternoon of very heavy and thundery showers and one reason for heading to Pendle Hill is to get clear views of the clouds (and hopefully stay dry).
Pendle Views
At the start of the walk (19:50hrs), the same cloud is still in view, and again a few minutes later from halfway up the hill.
Cumulonimbus Cloud
Looking North-West
To the north and west, there is no threat of rain.
The Other Walker |
Parlick Fell |
En route to the top, I pass the only other walker up here at this time. To the west, the pointed outline of Parlick Fell is clear to see.
The Summit
The cloud is now over the Skipton area (I think). The two-dimensional image makes it difficult to decide if the "anvil" is part of the same storm, or maybe a different one.
Pendle Sunset (almost)
