Pendle Summit
Scroll down for photos and a description of the walk....
Cloud Art
Start time of 19:00hrs from the roadside. I was willing Ireland to unify and Scotland to evolve, not devolve - but it was not to be, the clouds dispersed and lost their form.
Wheatear
This young lady hopped and bounced a good few steps ahead of me, willing me on; stayed for a photo and then flew away!
The Stile
Oh Yes! This is going to be a good one!

Pendle Summiteers
A lady and three young children make it to the top. It was the first time for one of the gang and the reward for all was ... chocolate - a rucksac full of the stuff! Even the dogs were chocolate coloured!
And Fame at Last! Granada on Sunday 16th Sept 2012
Walkers: Just Me.
Time taken: 1hr 5mins over a distance of about 2.5 miles.
Route: Roadside, up the steps, summit, down the track.
Weather and conditions: Cool on top, but not one to miss.
Greetings Count: The group as pictured and then a few others on the top. Too quiet really, it's a treat to be up there with this kind of sunset.

Eric Stephenson, via Echo on 7th September 2012:
"My Wife's dying wish was to have her ashes scattered from Pendle Beacon. At 83 and with angina and now carrying a spray I doubt if I can make it on foot - even from the Nick o' Pendle. We both have fond memories of Pendle walking there from Nelson every suitable weekend, from 14 years old until we moved to Bolton after starting our family in 1955.
Can anyone help by showing a suitable route involving the least climbing that I could possibly make, or any other suggestion."
I did not accept Eric's message in full as it contained his 'phone number and I could not edit the message, so I've quoted it here. I've been in touch with Eric and confirmed that the route from the "Nick" is the least demanding, but rather long. I hope Eric can in some way meet his wife's wish, the summit of Pendle is a great place to be.
Take me back to the start ....
