Pendle from Lower Black Moss
Plan A was to take a rail trip on the S&C, but it transpired that the trains weren't running due to engineering works. So after a quiet day I chose to see out the hours of daylight on and around Pendle Hill. Start time of 15:40hrs and Izzy The Dog is with me.
Autumn Colurs in Barley
I parked at the roadside and headed down past Lower Black Moss Reservoir and along the beck into Barley.

Looking West
17:15hrs and the western sky is livening up. The "island" to the left of the reflective glow is Llandudno and the land further to the left of that is the N.Wales coastline at Llanfairfechan.
Gas Rigs in The Irish Sea
Another long distance view, the sight of the mountains of North Wales was quite a surprise.

The little black dot in the photo on the right is a hot-air baloon. Identification of fells in the distance is with the aid of "viewfinderpanoramas", a useful website.
