Pendle Hill Summit
Scroll down for photos and a description of the walk....
Towards Pendle House
This evening's Pendle walk started from the roadside at 16:10 and the air is clear, so the views should be vast!
Black Moss Reservoirs & Pendle Shadow
Pen-y-ghent from Pendle Hill
The Stile
Black Moss
Someone has syphoned off water from the top reservoir, could it be the work of thirsty ..... southerners!
a little bit of .... Nelson
Quite enough, really.
The Summit
Normally, I complete my walk from this point with a simple descent back to the car - but not on a day like today!
Looking Back to the top of Ogden Clough
I decided to head westwards over the flags to the top of Ogden Clough and then head over the moor to the Scout Cairn.
Looking West
The little point on the fell is the "Scout Cairn", fells of Bowland are further west.
The Scout Cairn
I met a couple from Burnley at the summit and they followed the footpath round to here, whereas I chose the direct moorland route and they won! The direct route is full of tussocks and wet bits.
Pendle Sunset
Overlooking the Ribble Valley and the Bowland Fells.
Heading Back to The Stile
