Barley

Barley

Start time of 09:38hrs from Barley car park. Yesterday (Saturday) was dire and so a bit of cloud and a strong wind wasn't going to hold me back. There follows a Public Notice for walkers intending to follow this route during the coming week...

Footpath Repairs

These will be urgent repairs, not repairs to an urgent footbridge.

Pendle Footbridge

Footbridge No.1

This direct route from Barley is not one that I often use on the ascent of Pendle. This footbridge looks fine to me.

Pendle Hill

Ah that must be the footbridge in desperate need of attention.

Disused Barn

Footbridge to Pendle

Footbridge No.2

In need of repair? The supporting stonework looks a bit suspect.

Pendle Hill

Pendle Hill

Pendle House sits below the steep slopes of Pendle Hill. Locally, there is a competition for a Pendle Hill photo to adorn the entrance to the new DFS store in Colne. I think I'll put one in, the snag being that I take all these photos on a relatively low resolution as I'm not expecting to print them. I think they need a biggish print and therefore a need high quality image with lots of pixels and stuff.

Windy Pendle Hill

Staying erect was quite a challenge in the strong gusty wind.

The red dots show my route back to Barley, via the access road to the usual roadside parking spot, Windy Harbour Farm and the corner of Lower Black Moss Reservoir.
