Coldwell Reservoir

Pendle from Coldwell Reservoirs on 20th August

I've been off the fells with an awkward back injury. However, I took a few photos during the time that I couldn't walk very far. I found a handy spot between the two Coldwell Reservoirs for this view Pendlewards.

On the 29th, we have had heavy showers and it's a bit of a gamble going up there this evening. Will there be clear views to the west, or not?

Pendle Puddle

Pendle Stile

And so it was that the skyscape remained mainly cloud-bound. No sunset on 29th August. Back to the week before....

So, not one of the better Pendles. Now back to Sunday 26th and a trip into North Yorkshire.

Blea Moor Tunnel

Train Anticipators

We were heading for Dent station to watch a steam express, but on leaving Ribblehead, I could see the steam from the train in the middle distance. So I decided that Denthead was far enough, otherwise the engine might overtake us.

Sunday's intended destination was Dent Village. But it was full of folk, all hoping to attend the cancelled Dent Show. So to Sedbergh for lunch in The Sedbergh Cafe. Then it started raining and after visiting book shops, we headed home.

Recommended for light lunches and very tasty fruit crumbles!

The Echo widget thingymebob will vanish on the last day of September 2012. What a shame! Easy to use, giving visitors a voice, audience participation. Seldom abused, but recently so by "The Joker" from West Cumbria. I'll miss him as much as everyone else, but I will endeavour to find an alternative.....

Take me back to the start ....

Take me home....
