A short look at one of Lancashire's fells. Beacon Fell is 873ft asl and is located north of Preston and west of Clitheroe.

Summit Track
We parked in a small car park and made our way up here to the summit.
Beacon Fell Summit
The summit environment is very similar to that on top of Pendle Hill. Parlick in the background.
Tarn on Beacon Fell
There are lots of paths around the fell, great place for families and dog walkers.
Pendle Hill and Longridge Fell
It's about fourteen miles to the summit of Pendle Hill and Longridge Fell is nearer, to the right in this view.

Richard's Refreshment Review: We called at the cafe in Chipping, but it was more than full of cyclists! Bloody nuisance, if they are going to have an event involving so many, they should organise their own refreshments, hire a butty van or something. So we went in the pub, above, instead and enjoyed very good food in a calm, quiet environment.
