Scroll down for photos and a description of the walk....
Barley
I climbed PH yesterday and Karen commented that it had been some time since she was last on top of our favourite local fell, there was only one thing for it! Early morning cloud cover is breaking up. It's Ogden Clough yet again...
Lower Ogden Reservoir
We walked up past the Ogden Reservoirs and then along the route of Ogden Clough.
Upper Ogden Reservoir
Looking back, a much brighter day than yesterday.
Boar Clough
Yesterday, I followed Ogden Clough all the way, today we are heading up that well-worn path on the right, Boar Clough.
Boar Clough
Team Building?
This lot had a banner for "Kier" a large contsruction company. Presumably it all had something to do with team building, boys and girls done good! Lady and children nearer the camera, were not part of the team.
Karen at the Summit
It's been three years and nine months since Mrs.Ratcliffe last reached the top.
Pendle Summit Plateau
Pen-y-Ghent and Fountains Fell in the distance. We descend by the steps down the front of the Hill.
East Lancashire at its Best!
The Steps
I asked this man if he was half-way up or half-way down. He said he wasn't sure, but he wasn't going any further. I wondered if he'd had a great fall!

Barley Village Tearoom
We called in here for a toastie. See RRR.
Walkers: Karen and me. (Karen and I?) I prefer to use "me", I know it ain't right, but that's how it is.
Time taken: 2hr and 40 minutes over a distance of about 5 miles.
Route: Barley, Ogden Reservoirs, Ogden Clough, Boar Clough, Summit, The Steps, over the fields to Barley.
Weather and conditions: Sunny Intervals, rather windy on top.
Greetings Count: Huge numbers on the Hill today.
Richard's Refreshment Review: Barley Village Tearoom is usually closed when I walk past. It doesn't open on Saturdays and opens from 11am onwards, Tuesday to Friday; 12 noon onwards on Sunday. Room for about 20 at a push and a good menu, with proper meals on offer, but we settled for toasties.
Take me back to the start ....
