~Muker to Keld~

Keld
Scroll down for photos and a description of the walk....
Photo 1: Camping at Usha Gap |
Pack Horse Bridge |
Look at Photo 1 and list as many items as you can see in the photo. If you can find more than 20 different things, you could win a prize. The pack horse bridge over the beck is seen on our walk to Thwaite from Muker before joining the Pennine Way for a walk up to Kisdon House and over to Keld.
A typical Swaledale scene with the village of Thwaite in the centre. The riverside walk follows the lower meadows and then joins the Pennine Way just short of Thwaite and we followed the well-worn path up the flank of Kisdon.
Two Views of Kisdon House
North Gang Scar
The Pennine Way follows a contour along North Gang Scar. Swinner Gill is seen on the far side of the valley.
Deer
The usually elusive Roe Deer is scarpering with haste up the hillside as Molly spots the "big rabbit" as I called it.

To the River |
The two photos (above) were taken 45 minutes apart and in the interim I took light refreshments at the cafe at Park Farm.
East Gill Waterfall
I think some people refer to this as one of the Kisdon Forces, but East Gill comes down from the north of The Swale and Kisdon is on the south side. Dunt really matter, it's a waterfall and two very fine Kisdon waterfalls can be found further down the river.
River Swale
Not a view I've seen before as usually the trees are in leaf when I'm in this area. I reckon there are at least six different routes between Muker and Keld and the only one I've not tried is the meadows walk through Thwaite to Angram and in turn to Keld - with a little walking on the tarmac road.

The Tractor
Molly is yet to grasp the idea of sitting behind the steering wheel.

Looking Back
Easy walking back along the river side.
Meadows
Now where's all the photographers on their knees examining and capturing the colourful wild flowers?
To Muker
