Pendle Summit
Scroll down for photos and a description of the walk....
Pendle from Lower Black Moss Reservoir on 19th August
This August marked the 400th anniversary of the trial of The Pendle Witches. An "artist" marked the date with "1612" draped in fabric on the fellside - visible for miles around. Personally, I like it and I like the attention drawn to the "witches". Surely a huge miscarriage of justice, we locals should be grateful for this deep and intersting history on our doorstep, even though it was created in tragic circumstances. "1612" was removed as planned, a few days later.

I'm not sure what to expect from the summit today, there's only one way to find out.
