Pendle Summit
Scroll down for photos and a description of the walk....
St.Mary's Church, Nelson
On the way to Barley, I stopped to take a few photos of urban East Lancashire. I showed this church recently, but this is a better photo taken from Laund Head Farm.
Marsden Heights
One of Pendle's new schools. I used to play football there, before they commandeered the playing fields.
Tunstill Mill, Brierfield
Empty and recently bought by Pendle Council. I wonder what they will do with it?
Barley Village Hall
Happy Lane is just around the corner. I recall much fun at the time of the Queen's Silver Jubilee, I was 13 years old and we had sandwiches and fizzy drinks; I don't remember much about the Golden Jubilee; this year it is the Diamond Jubilee and to celebrate the economic mess, the government has decided that we will have an extra day's holiday. And guess who's paying for it? It's wearing thin, get the bunting down and get back to work!!
Lower Ogden Reservoir
The walk started from Barley at 19:25hrs and with time on my side I headed for Fell Wood to see what I could see from a different angle.
Expensive Photo
"Too dear" were mildy surprised to see me, but didn't scarper. Fawns seem less panicky than more mature deer.

Upper Ogden Reservoir
Out of the wood, up to the Upper Reservoir and then along to Boar Clough, for a route to the summit.

Party Time
A group of five "Eastern Europeans" passed me on the top, armed with beers and a guitar. My suspicion is that an area is now littered with empty Carlsberg tins and other rubbish, but let's hope I'm wrong. Off down the steps, along to the roadside and down the tarmac to Barley.
Walkers: Just Me.
