Pendle Summit
Scroll down for photos and a description of the walk....
Barley Car Park
Starting at 18:30hrs from Barley Car Park, this is not going to be a memorable sunset stroll. But, a walk's a walk, it's better than the alternative of an evening in front of the tv.
Barley Houses
Heading for Ogden Reservoirs past these cottages close to Barley.
Lower Ogden Reservoir
It's not exciting.
Upper Ogden Reservoir
Looook! It's full and is overflowing into Lower OR. We haven't had a particularly wet couple of weeks, unlike some areas, but we have had two very wet days and this seems to have added several feet to the water level.
Boar Clough
I'm heading up the footpath to the left of the clough, past the tree.
The Top
The top is quiet this evening.
Barley
Cat Holes
The unusual rock feature on the southern flank of Pendle. Inlcudes one small hole, like a manhole on the main road, which is just wide enough for an unwary walker and deep enough to consume him! Watch where you put your feet.
Upper Ogden Dam
So, unusually, my routes up and down were quite similar.
