~Pendle Hill~

Pendle Summit
Scroll down for photos and a description of the walk....
Barley
It's Pendle Time again! First one in 2012 and at 14:06hrs an intrepid trio set forth from Barley car park. Peter Ratcliffe and Izzy The Dog are with me. We sense there could be standing room only on top of Lancashire finest felltop. I suggest a route past Lower Black Moss Reservoir in order to avoid the crowds.
Black Moss Reservoirs Access Lane
Gosh! This was supposed to be the quiet option. We take a left turn to walk past the "Witches" dig site.
Pendle Hill
The footpath goes through a couple of fields on the way to Windy Harbour Farm.
Roadside Parking
Cor Blimey! I have never seen so many cars on the roadside.
The Steps
Zoinks! Scooby, what's going on?

Pendle Walkers
Oh My Giddy Aunt! What were all these folk doing on December 29th when I was on my own up here struggling to stand up in driving rain and gale force winds?
The Top
Izzy (left) and Peter reach the top. I had to politely ask a young lady to stand aside while we took our souvenir photo.

Barley Hill
Barley Hill catches a little sunshine, frost persists on the slopes that don't see the sun in winter.

Down The Track
We decided to go past the track and follow the path down the flank and on to Barley Hill.
